How to hot-plug a pcie card that is installed in the Magma EB7x8 Gen2 expansion chassis. In order to perform the hot-plug, the Magma EB7X8 Gen2 chassis should have the Hot-Plug feature enabled first. And the chassis should and always be connected to a computer. You can't hot-plug a PCIE card when the host computer is not attached (and turned on). Also, the PCIE card must support hot-plug, meaning the PCIE card is hot-pluggable.

How to minimize the fan noise in the expansion chassis

Using the fan control switch to minimize the fan noise or to control the speed of the fan in the expansion chassis. Locate the dip switch on the expansion board and set it to ON position.

Slow down the fan speed, toggle the switch to On position
High speed, toggle the switch to Off Position
Off means the Fan is running continiously on high speed
On means the fan is being controlled by the thersmistor, so that it runs at low speed unless the thermistor detects elevated temperatures and increases the fan speed.
